Allen's distinctive look led to a string of action roles, including The Wild Geese (1978) and Who Dares Wins (1982). A successful voiceover artist, he worked on The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer and Vic Reeves' Big Night Out in the 90s, and was the voice of E4 in 2005.
