Somerset House’s Film4 Summer Screen: BEHIND THE SCREEN

BAFTA join Somerset House for the fourth year running to present 2 events as part of their Behind the Screen talks at Film4 Summer Screen. Held before the main screening, these illuminating talks offer a glimpse into minds of the directors, actors and industry insiders behind this year’s Film4 Summer Screen films

Doors open at 18.30 for a complimentary drink in the Behind the Screen bar, reached through the Great Arch Hall. All talks start at 19.00 in the Screening Room and last one hour. The Great Arch Hall and the Screening Room are on Lower 2 of the South Building in Somerset House, ticketholders should arrive at the Embankment Entrance to attend the talks.
Behind the Screen tickets give access to Behind the Screen events only. Tickets for film screenings must be purchased separately. There is a reserved space in the courtyard for those who have purchased tickets for both the talk and the main screening.

Tom Kingsley and Will Sharpe (co-directors of Black Pond) will join host, Ian Hadyn Smith, Editor of The International Film Guide at our discussion on realism in British cinema, and how the approach has evolved in recent years, through genre mixing, formal devices and the demonstration of Britain’s other great historical talent, black humour.
