[DONE] Philips Audience Award - The Judging Process
30 March 09
The Philips Audience Award celebrates thew best programme of 2008. Find out how the six shortlisted programmes were selected.
The Judging Process
The Academy compiled an initial list of programmes screened in 2008 including:
- the top 100 rated programmes
- the top 30 multichannel programmes
- the top 5 performers by channel
We then invited a wide range of TV editors to select their top twenty programmes. In addition, each panellist was given the chance to champion up to three programmes of their personal choice which did not figure in the top rated programmes.
The programmes which garnered five votes and above were then put before the panel, which convened at BAFTA’s headquarters on March 26 to shortlist the final six for the public vote.
Judging Criteria
The judging criteria was simple: to compile a shortlist of programmes which captured the public’s imagination in 2008. The panel were also mindful of selecting a broad range of programmes so that there was something on the list for everyone.
