With his A-levels under his belt Jack Crocker can finally put all his energy into his BAFTA and Screen-Skills menorting and he's raring to go.
June has been a fantastic month! First off, finished the two year ordeal that was my A levels and I'm free as a bird to make films.
Secondly and much more excitingly, my bursary was finally able to step up a gear because of this! I finished my exams towards the end of the month so as a result there hasn't been much time yet to get stuff done, but my BAFTA mentor, Joby Gee, has been a legend and crammed in much of his time for emails and phone calls and a couple of brilliant meetings.
The first of which was an informal get together at BAFTA HQ on Piccadilly Street. We got talking over a pint with some of his friends who were also BAFTA members (I'm 18 now so this is all legal I'm sure the BBC would like me to remind you all) and then we saw the new Woody Allen film 'Whatever Works' in BAFTA which was possibly the worst cinema in the country for your phone to go off in and the only one where every member of the audience waits until the last credit has rolled and always applauds the effort. It was a fantastic night and a great atmosphere.

The second meeting with my mentor was much more formal, and was the official meeting that I received for being a Screen-Skills nominee.
We had a BBC Blast documentary crew on the scene and Joby and I reviewed the films I've made since I've got the bursary with a critical eye and he gave some fantastic suggestions on how I can improve.
So that takes us up to today! This has all literally kicked off in the past few days, I'm about to spend a second week in Envy this time working on one of my own films (as I write I'm in a donut shop in the train station i'm not allowed to mention by name, using free wifi before I go to the hotel), so I will tell you all about that in my next blog entry! Sorry for the delay in my entries to present by the way, I have been trying (and failing) to nail my A levels, but I'm back and raring to go people!
