Jack Crocker: The News that Made my Year
20 April 10
Jack Crocker blogs about how being nominated for a Screen-Skills Award had lead to an action-packed but fun filled schedule.

Jack Crocker with Editor Joby GeeI’m not going to lie: it’s been AWESOME. I heard about the Blast Bursary last summer and wrote From Choice To Change for it.
Then I met Joey and he wanted to compose for it and we became great mates.
In the middle of school I got the call letting me know I’d won a bursary, it kind of made my year.
Then I find out Joey had won a bursary too for composing and our film was being premiered at the BFI of all places – not a big deal or anything…
Next thing I know I’m in London shaking hands with Joby Gee, a BAFTA winning editor and I’m at an after party with industry pros!
Then if that wasn’t enough, my mentor works for ENVY! Next thing I know I’m in London shaking hands with Joby Gee, a BAFTA winning editor and I’m at an after party with industry pros! Not wanting me to get too comfortable, BAFTA gets in touch – Joey and I have both been nominated for the Screenskills award and we’re invited to the BAFTA TV Craft Awards in May!
Being the first film I’ve ever finished, it would be a bit of an understatement to say all this was unexpected. I’m making some decent friends and I’m hoping us bursary winners are going to keep making films together after this! So, basically, thanks everyone!
