On 26 April 2010, BAFTA winning make up artist Christine Cant took to the stage at BAFTA’s head quarters to discuss her 30 year career in make up with Matt Bell.

In this event, presented by MAC cosmetics, Christine reveals the secrets of her trade and offers her advice to those aspiring to follow in her foot steps. The interview focuses on building a career in the TV industry and working with celebrity artists.

You have to be quite sensitive. You’ve got to be very very aware of atmospheres and how people are feeling

Later in the interview, Christine is joined by her friends and previous ‘victims’ of her make up chair, Noel Fielding and Jennifer Saunders. If you don’t recognise them here that is only testament to Christine’s make up mastery as she had previously transformed the pair into Joan Collins and the Spirit of Jazz.

More About Christine Cant:

Christine’s career has almost exclusively centred around comedy and her impressive catalogue of work includes the likes of Father Ted, The Mighty Boosh, French and Saunders and Alan Partridge.

She has played an integral part in creating some of our best loved and most cherished comedy characters and was awarded a BAFTA in 1989 for her work on Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
