Short Sighted
16 April 10
Find out how to get your film seen by people who matter and read the latest updates from our Short Sighted event series.
Short Sighted! tells you everything you need to know about getting your short film to the right audiences.
Produced by BAFTA and Shooting People, the events bring together key players from the short film industry to guide fellow filmmakers through every stage of distributing their work: from devising a festival strategy and working with sales agents, to reaching audiences online and utilising new digital tools.
We also look ahead to where short film exhibition is moving in the digital age, including exploring ways of generating revenue. Along the way, filmmakers meet and share strategies with the industry and their peers.
BAFTA Event Producer Tricia Tuttle explains more: "You could literally make a full time job out of distributing your short film (though, sadly, a mostly unpaid one). Short Sighted! helps you understand the market and identify key players so you can be more efficient in reaching audiences, and get on with making your next film"
To date, BAFTA and Shooting People have produced Short Sighted! events in London, Newcastle, Liverpool, Jersey and Edinburgh.
Speakers have included representatives from top international companies including: YouTube, MySpace, Shorts International, UK Film Council, British Council, Film London, Northwest Vision and Media, onedotzero, BBC Film Network, Future Shorts, Babelgum, MOFILM, as well as London and Tribeca Film Festivals and Rushes, Encounters and London Short Film Festivals.
