14 February 2016

Winner Acceptance Speech by Chris Duesterdiek, Martin Hernandez, Frank A. Montano, Jon Taylor & Randy Thom in the Sound category

UNKNOWN MALE SPEAKER:  Wow, this is quite a surprise.  Thank you BAFTA, for the academy, and mostly thank you, Alejandro, for making this world.  You are an amazing director but you're a better and more amazing human being.  That's what you can see here.
I was very lucky to be introduced to this beautiful country through the movies.  The first time I heard about London was through a film written by Alan Parker called Melody.  It was very famous in Mexico.  So we were kids looking through the window of the cinema and travelling for the first time beyond our boundaries.  So that's obviously one of the amazing things that cinema has.  It can make you go other places.  I'm very honoured to share this with my friends, so I'm going to be brief.  Thank you very much.

A couple of people I have to acknowledge that really helps us through this great journey that Alejandro put us on.  But these Lisa Levine, John Tyler, thank you so much.  Bill Meadows.  Tim Lymer.  Everybody at New Regency.  Such support.  Amazing, amazing support.  Our home stage is at Universal.  Everyone at Universal.  Thank you very much.  Thank you so much Alejandro.  Thank you.

UNKNOWN MALE SPEAKER:  I want to thank my wife. 30 years of mixing in a dark room.  Thank you to everybody.  Alejandro, for making a benchmark movie that's going to be studied for generations to come, to be part of it, to be Mexican-American, two hearts, man. So everybody at Uni, everybody at fox, Universal's home stage, I love you all.

UNKNOWN MALE SPEAKER:  Just quickly, my wife, Nadia, my family.  The crew that went through this.  They deserve an award for just getting to the end and for the people who support us and watch movies.  Thank you.

UNKNOWN MALE SPEAKER:  (Spanish spoken).
