London, 24 November 2015: Stephen Fry’s award-winning career as a writer, director, actor and presenter will be celebrated in an hour-long television special to be broadcast on BBC Two this Christmas. The programme is co-produced by BAFTA Productions and Whizz Kid Entertainment.

Stephen Fry: A Life on Screen will reflect on Fry’s fascinating career spanning more than 30 years. The in-depth special hears from his colleagues and friends, who talk candidly about their working relationship with him, and explores Fry’s early days with the Cambridge Footlights and his many successes in comedy and drama with Hugh Laurie and Ben Elton through to his feature films and more recent travel documentaries.

Kim Shillinglaw, Controller of BBC Two, and Pinki Chambers, Commissioning Editor for BBC Entertainment, commissioned the programme.  Executive Producers are Clare Brown for BAFTA Productions and Katherine Allen for Whizz Kid Entertainment.

Clare Brown, Director of Production at BAFTA, said: “BAFTA is delighted to have this opportunity to shine the spotlight on Stephen Fry, who has hosted our Film Awards with such great style for an incredible ten years.”
