Liza Burnett Fefferman is the Senior Vice President of Publicity at IDP/Samuel Goldwyn Films, an independently owned and operated motion-picture company that develops, produces and distributes innovative feature films and documentaries.
The company is dedicated to working with world renowned and emerging writers/filmmakers and committed to filmed entertainment that offers original voices in uniquely told stories.
This steadfastness is best exemplified by the Academy Award® nominated The Squid and the Whale, the Academy Award® nominated Super Size Me, Fireproof (the top grossing independent film of 2008), Elegy starring Oscar winners Penélope Cruz and Ben Kingsley and Julie Delpy's hit comedy 2Days In Paris. In addition to overseeing the company’s slate, she also oversees Corporate Communications.
Prior to joining Goldwyn, Fefferman operated a PR and Marketing consulting firm with clients that included the New York Jets, Conde Nast’s domino magazine and several film production companies.
From 2005-2006, she served as Executive Vice President, Publicity at The Weinstein Company (TWC), the independent film venture from Harvey and Bob Weinstein, co-founders of Miramax Films.
During her tenure at TWC - where she reported directly to the Weinsteins - she orchestrated and oversaw campaigns for all TWC titles including: Hoodwinked, Transamerica, Scary Movie 4, Derailed and The Matador while guiding the young company to four Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe win for Felicity Huffman.
Prior to The Weinstein Company, Fefferman was Senior Vice President, Dan Klores Communications, where she founded and spearheaded DKC/Film. While there, she developed and implemented national publicity campaigns for film and television clients including: USA Films/Focus Features, New Line, Lions Gate Films, IFC, Wellspring, Palm Pictures, John Sloss & Cinetic Media, THINKFilm, GreeneStreet Films, Jean Doumanian Productions, Iridium Entertainment ("The Door in the Floor"), Guy Walks Into A Bar ("Elf"), IFP, Showtime Networks, Inc., Court TV, VH1 and USA Network. She also worked with such high-profile talent as Jennifer Lopez, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Paula Abdul, Susan Sarandon, Britney Spears, Vincent Gallo, Trudie Styler, Jeffrey Tambor, Mary J. Blige and Lil' Kim.
In 2004, Fefferman was named one of PR Week's 'Top 10 Rising Stars Under 30'. Fefferman has also served as Associate Producer on two films, "Ring of Fire: The Emile Griffith Story" (USA Network) and "The Boys of 2nd Street Park (Showtime) both of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
A graduate of Union College, she lives in New York City with her husband and child.
