BAFTA New York was once again a major presence at the Hamptons International Film Festival. This annual autumn event in eastern Long Island, New York has the perfect balance of star/ filmmaker wattage and small town appeal.
The centerpiece of the “Focus on UK Film” was the tribute to Working Title Films. Co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner were there to accept the Golden Starfish Award for Lifetime Achievement and writer/directors Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Edgar Wright (The World’s End, Shaun of the Dead) came to regale and honor them. The whole event was co-produced by BAFTA New York board members Harlene Freezer and Luke Parker Bowles to wonderful effect.
