BAFTA New York Scholarship Program
This year, BAFTA has awarded 26 scholarships in total—10 in the UK and 16 in the US. Of the 16 US scholarships, 8 students were selected to study in New York institutions through the BAFTA New York Scholarship Program.
The BAFTA New York Scholarship Program is made possible by the generous support of a number of individuals, foundations and partnerships. Partners include BBC America, Caroline Grist and Charles Tremayne, DLT Entertainment, HBO, The Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust, King Features Animation and The Taffner Family Charitable Trust.
In addition to financial aid towards annual course fees, the BAFTA Scholars will gain free access to BAFTA online events and resources as well as one-to-one mentoring from BAFTA award winners, nominees and members.
“This year’s U.S. scholars represent a broad spectrum of nationalities, ethnicities, genders and backgrounds,” said Maria Ishak, Chair of BAFTA New York. “We are proud to invest in the future of this diverse and talented group of individuals and we can’t wait to see the impact they have on our industry years from now.”
