Red Carpet Interview with Rooney Mara

Q. Rooney Mara, welcome to the BAFTAs. Congratulations on your nomination for playing Therese Belivet. Such a beautiful film. What do you think it is about Carol's and Therese's story that has resonated with everyone about the world?
A. I think Todd did such an amazing job of capturing the essence of falling in love and that's a feeling everyone can relate to, so yeah.
Q. Also, in this, Ed Lachman has done the most beautiful cinematography, it's sort of like the film is another character in that film. How astounded were you when you saw the finished film?
A. I really -- I knew it was going to be beautiful because I knew what they were going for and I saw the visual references but I really was blown away by just how beautiful it was.
Q. Tonight is a little bit like a reunion of Weightless, I think most of the cast are here, Michael Fassbender is here, Kate is here, Benicio del Toro, what can you tell us about this Terrence Malick project?
A. I can't tell you anything because I don't really know much. I don't know what it will be before.
