Q. Congratulations on your nomination for Wild.
A. Thank you very much.
Q. Have you ever done anything like that yourself?
A. No, and it was not fun making this movie at all. Other than the wonderful crew, the director, Nick Hornby wrote the script, I loved working with him. It was definitely the hardest working experience of my life.
Q. Goodness me. But you pick these roles for yourself, you bring it upon yourself.
A. I can only blame myself.
Q. Which performances from your fellow nominees have you enjoyed the most recently?
A. I just love Eddie Redmayne and Felicty Jones, that film I just think they did a beautiful job. I love JK Simmons and Miles Teller in Whiplash. Ralph Fiennes, in Grand Budapest Hotel is one of my favourite performances he has ever done. Is that enough?
