Q: Congratulations on your nomination for Still Alice. What I a dream role.
A. I loved it. I could not stop crying, actually. It was so extraordinary. It was the first time I had seen something like this written very subjectively. It was very unusual.
Q. I have to say, the scenes with you and Kristen, who plays your daughter, I was in pieces.
A. She is the most extraordinary actress. I have known her since she was 12 years old, my husband cast her in a movie when she was just a kid. She has not changed a bit. She's so authentic, very talented and has all this emotion at her fingertips. I just love her.
Q. What an amazing collection of performances.
A. They are pretty great. I am very proud to be among them and they are all really lovely people too.
