Winner Acceptance Speech by Pete Docter in the Animated film category
Pete Docter: Thank you, BAFTA. It's amazing being here. I was fully expecting to see a charming domesticated farm animal up here. So I am grateful and honoured to be in this great company. Our film takes place inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl. That was hard to figure out, but not as tough as actually being 11. So for anyone who is out there, trying to figure things out in secondary school, it's okay to feel scared or angry or sad, but please do us a favour and express yourself. Sing, write, draw; the world will be a better place for it.
I want to thank our amazing team, Josh, Cooley, Meg, [inaudible] and Josh. We make a pretty good team. I also want to thank Jim Morris and Ed Campbell and John Lassiter, everybody at Pixar and Disney for supporting us on this weird and wonderful journey. Lastly, I want to thank my wife, Amanda, who kept the family together even as the film was falling apart. Thank you.
