BAFTA Los Angeles Soccer: League Champions 2010

09 January 11

BAFTA Los Angeles win the 2010 Santa Clarita Men's League with a storming 4-0 victory against Afghan FC.

On Sunday, January 9 the lads headed up to Santa Clarita for their weather-delayed Cup Final.

Even with a few regulars missing, it was still a great footballing squad who came out strong straight from kicked off.

It was all BAFTA Los Angeles pressure, and after missing several good chances the lads took the lead when Julian Stone sent over a sweet cross for Dean Jacobs to volley home from the edge of the box.

In the second half, Afghan FC came storming back and started to take control the midfield. However, when Richard Shepherd fired home from a Louis Hunt pass, the game was effectively over.

Afghan FC tried to get back into the game, but left themselves vulnerable at the back and Chip Diggins and Louis Hunt scored a goal each to seal the 4-0 victory for the lads.

It was a tough game, but a deserved result to cap a terrific year of membership soccer in 2010 and another piece of silverware for the BAFTA Los Angeles office.
