BAFTA Los Angeles Scholarship: 2014 Applications

BAFTA Los Angeles is pleased to invite eligible students to apply for our 2014 Scholarship Program. Deadline has now been extended to Jan 31, 2014.

BAFTA Los Angeles will award a $15,000 Scholarship to a British Film, Television and/or Video Games student studying full-time at a graduate school in an accredited university in the US.

In addition, there will be one scholarship of $5,000, a special television scholarship of $5,000 and two honorable mention scholarships of $1,500 each.

While students of visual arts are particularly encouraged to apply, BAFTA Los Angeles welcomes applicants of other disciplines who are working towards below-the-line careers. Applicants must graduate from their course no earlier than December 31, 2014.

To meet our eligibility requirements applicants must be British citizens either enrolled or accepted into a graduate-level program at an accredited US School.

How To Apply:

Candidates should complete the application form, including a brief bio, education details and experience to date.

Online links to supporting evidence of your excellence as a filmmaker should be included in the space provided in your application. We are unable to accept physical materials. Applications could include a director's reel, a screenplay, an actor's reel, a produced film or anything that the applicant feels will commend their talent and enhance their chances. Please list any submitted materials in the space provided at the bottom of the form.

The deadline for 2014 BAFTA Los Angeles Scholarship Applications is January 31, 2014.

Final judging will be by a panel of industry professionals and their judgment is final.

The Scholarship program is the bedrock of BAFTA Los Angeles' charitable work to support emerging talents, with virtually every scholarship recipient graduating to become a working professional in the Film and TV industry. Alumni include Sacha Gervasi (Terminal, Anvil! The Story of Anvil), Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember) and Miles Miller (Smallville).
