BAFTA Los Angeles is saddened to learn of the passing of member Robin Sachs.
Robin was a wonderful man and a consummate actor who brought laughter and joy into the lives of countless people.
Robin was born in London, the first son of Leonard Sachs and Eleanor Summerfield. He trained at RADA and made his breakthrough alongside Rex Harrison in the celebrated production of Pirandello’s Henry IV. Robin went on to star in countless stage, film and television productions in the UK and the US including Galaxy Quest, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Babylon 5 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
In recent years his velvet voice has become one of the most sought after in the audio book world. Robin would have celebrated his 62nd birthday on Feb 5th and would doubtless want everyone to raise a glass of something interesting in celebration of his life. He will be missed.
