BAFTA Los Angeles is saddened to learn of the passing of long time member and dear friend, David Campling.
David was a long-time BAFTA Los Angeles Board Member, and previous Treasurer of the organization. He co-founded the Heritage Archive project and was responsible for the taping and editing of many of the most popular interviews in the series.
A renowned film and sound editor, David's work included The Day of the Locust and Sunday Bloody Sunday with John Schlesinger, Carry on Doctor, Platoon, Death Wish II, Cul de Sac and The Terminator. Trained at Pinewood and Twickenham Studios, David was BAFTA-Nominated for his work on Sunday Bloody Sunday and nominated for the M.P.S.E. Golden Reel Award for Platoon.
David also produced the BAFTA Los Angeles tribute to John Schlesinger at the Egyptian Theater, Hollywood in 2002.
He was a dear friend of BAFTA Los Angeles, and the Board and Staff send our most sincere condolences to Trish Campling and their family.
