BAFTA Los Angeles is pleased to announce a very special evening at the new Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
Directed by David Lean in 1946, one year before he co-founded BAFTA, Brief Encounter is a brilliantly crafted, romantic classic. Based on a Noel Coward play, the film was produced by BAFTA Los Angeles founder Ronald Neame and is considered by many to be one of the greatest romantic films ever made.
Conceived and directed by Artistic Director Emma Rice, this Kneehigh stage production is a fine example of how greatly the art of the moving image impacts and influence other artistic work. The influence of Lean’s film on this production creates a unique and moving evening of theatre.
Members and Guests are invited to join BAFTA for a special evening including a performance of Brief Encounter, a special discussing following with Director Emma Rice, and an exclusive membership reception afterwards.
