BAFTA Los Angeles TV Tea 2012

Los Angeles, September 4, 2012 – The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles® (BAFTA Los Angeles), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, announced today that the BAFTA Los Angeles TV Tea, presented by BBC AMERICA, will take place on Saturday, September 22 at The London Hotel. BBC AMERICA is returning for its tenth year as presenting sponsor of the BAFTA LA TV Tea.

Launched in 2003, the BAFTA LA TV Tea is one of the most prestigious events in the annual awards calendar. The 2012 Tea will be held the Saturday afternoon prior to The Primetime Emmy Awards, and will celebrate excellence in television by honoring this year's nominees from the UK, Commonwealth and America. Leading television executives, celebrities, BAFTA members, as well as Emmy Nominees will enjoy traditionally British tea and scones, and cocktails, as they bid on unique items in the silent auction to raise funds for BAFTA Los Angeles Community Outreach and Education programs including the weekly Inner City Summer Screening Program in 38 LA City and County parks.

“This is one of the key events in our calendar and with BAFTA LA very much acting as a bridge between the UK and Hollywood, we are delighted to congratulate all the nominees,” said Neil Stiles, Chairman of BAFTA LA. “This year, you will see more than ever how the TV Tea has become an increasingly important part of the awards season.”

BAFTA Los Angeles TV Tea sponsors include presenting sponsor BBC AMERICA along with American Airlines and Champagne Taittinger.
