On a balmy summer's day director Shane Meadows and and producer Mark Herbert joined Radio One's James King in the Music and Film Arena at the Latitude Festival.

The award-winning filmmmakers talked about their collaborations on Dead Man's Shoes and their recent BAFTA-winning film, This Is England. They went on to answer a barrage of questions about their work from a packed audience of film fans, movie-buffs and festivakl goers.

The Latitude Festival

Featuring an unparalleled mix of music, film, comedy, cabaret and theatre, the Academy was invited to open the festival and headline the Music and Film Arena. We were delighted to accept and brought Sony into the proceedings as sponsors.

Other Academy events at the Latitude Festival included Film critic Mark Kermode presenting Hitchcock's silent thriller The Lodger (1926) accompanied by a live orchestra and a screening of Julien Temple's documentary, Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten.
