Contract type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: circa £18,000 per annum

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefitting the general public.

The Membership and Awards department of BAFTA work on five ceremonies per year; Film, Television, Television Craft, Children’s and Games and with over 7500 voting members worldwide, the department works to ensure that it represents the breadth and depth of the ever-changing film, television and games industries. This department now requires a highly competent individual to ensure the smooth running of the Membership & Awards department by providing full administrative support.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Technical Development Officer in the management of the BAFTA Awards Entry site, which includes assisting in the setting up of entry forms, managing payments & preparation of entry information & first-line checking of entries and videos.

This role is ideal for someone who prides themselves on being highly organised and has meticulous attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the setup of juries including booking rooms and equipment and the preparation and testing of the online tablet voting system
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of potential awards entrants
  • Assist with checking entries for all Awards and ensure voting data and assets are uploaded and accurate
  • Communicate with nominees including confirming attendance and requesting details and photographs
  • Respond to queries to the Membership & Awards team from members, industry professionals and entrants
  • Assist with the ticketing of all the Award ceremonies
  • Manage collation and return of clips and additional material for nominated entries and obtain clearance for use
  • Production and distribution of awards certificates, plaques and uncollected BAFTA masks
  • To work closely with the Membership Manager on Membership renewals and the new member intake

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills including (minimum) intermediate Word and Excel and experience of database packages and online content management systems
  • Excellent organisational abilities, and the discipline for self-organisation without direct supervision
  • Enthusiasm for working as part of a team
  • Excellent written communication skills and a positive and confident telephone manner
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience, knowledge of (or a passion for) the television, games or film industries
