2011 Rocliffe comedy writing duo Peter Bowden and Thom Phipps have written a new BBC comedy starring Kayvan Novak.

Fonejacker star Kayvan Novak is to star in a new BBC4 comedy written by Peter Bowden and Thom Phipps, winners of the BAFTA Rocliffe comedy writing competion in 2011.

The programme is inspired by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's stay in the Ecuadorian embassy and was dreamt up by Novak and his Fonejacker producer Tom Thostrup and the BAFTA-Rocliffe-winning comedy writers Bowden and  Phipps were commissioned to write it.

The BBC4 show, called Asylum, is described as "a satirical comedy about a government whistle-blower and a millionaire internet entrepreneur trapped together in a London embassy".

The pair were amongst the group of selected winners for the first ever BAFTA Rocliffe Sitcom Showcase in 2011. The competition, now in its fourth year selects a small number of the best submitted comedy scripts and the writers are invited to attend the New York Television Festival to present their work and meet industry experts in the States.
