Alex Lawther | Actor

Alex began acting in theatre at 16, when he played the lead role in David Hare’s South Downs at the Minerva Theatre in Chichester. Following a sell-out run, the play transferred to London and Alex was nominated for a WhatsOnStage London Newcomer of the Year award. He made his feature film debut in X + Y and played a young Alan Turing in 2014’s The Imitation Game, for which he was nominated at the BFI London Film Festival Award for Best British Newcomer, and won the London Film Critics' Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year. He followed this with a starring role in 2015’s Departure, opposite Juliet Stevenson, and in May he completed filming a new HBO pilot, Virtuoso.
