BAFTA has announced the 200+ talented individuals selected for BAFTA Crew, the UK-wide initiative to help below-the-line talent develop their film and television careers outside of the capital.

BAFTA Crew boasts a 12-month programme dedicated to developing the skills of those working behind the camera. Established last year in England only, BAFTA Crew heads nationwide in 2014 to nurture the talents of craftspeople from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and those living outside of London in England.

Selected by an industry jury, participants in the initiative have backgrounds in camera, sound (production and post), costume, hair and make-up, editing, VFX, and production management, and over 40 below-the-line talent will return to benefit from BAFTA Crew for a second year.

The initiative is funded by Creative Skillset and run in partnership with Creative England in the English regions, offering its members masterclasses, live streamed Q&As and networking events with BAFTA-winning and BAFTA-nominated talent. Michael Pricecomposer and music editor (Sherlock, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy), production designer Andy Nicholson (Gravity, Divergent) and editor Mark Sanger (Gravity, Alice in Wonderland) are amongst the names to feature in the BAFTA Crew events programme.

“It’s wonderful to welcome back BAFTA Crew and now as a UK wide initiative, helping participants across the country hone their craft and strengthen their network.”
