An American director, writer and producer responsible for countless classics of the horror genre, Craven’s early work was distinguished by its intensity, whilst postmodernism became a staple of his later career. His work included The Last House on the Left (1972), The Hills Have Eyes (1977), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and the Scream franchise (1996-2011).
