Although probably best remembered as Emily Bishop’s bigamist husband Arnold in Coronation Street (1980), the role was Waring’s fifth in the soap. He also appeared in such popular series as Doctor Who (1967), Follyfoot (1972), Crown Court (1972-79), Emmerdale Farm (1974), the sitcom Mixed Blessings (1979-80) and Peak Practice (2000).
