An American producer who was best known away for film as a partner of High Hefner as an executive at Playboy, Lownes ran the company's UK casinos and clubs in his role as Promotion Director. He executive produced Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Differerent (1971) and Roman Polanski's Macbeth (1971).
