Miyoshi Umeki

Japanese born Umeki was cast in the drama Sayonara (1957), winning an Oscar for her performance, only two years after moving to America. Her other films include The Flower Drum Song (1961), but she was far more active on television where her credits include The Courtship of Eddie’s Father (1969-72).
