The head of MGM’s make-up department from 1950 to 1970, Tuttle won an Oscar for his work on The Seven Faces Of Dr Lao (1965). His expertise was deployed on a range of other films from Singin’ In The Rain (1952), North By Northwest (1959) to The Time Machine (1960).
