Thomas Baptiste

A Guyanese actor and singer who moved to Britain aged 21, Baptiste began his career in entertainment as a baritone singer before discovering the theatre. He was the first black actor to appear in Coronation Street (1963), and his notable credits included The Ipcress File (1965), Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971) and Empire Road (1978-1979).
