British-born but raised in Canada, Streatfield began acting as a child on radio and television. Returning to the UK, and the Bristol Old Vic, she later appeared in such enduring series as The Bill (1988), Grange Hill (1997-99), Casualty (2000), as well as the film News From Nowhere (1978).
