An American director who began his career as a dancer and choreographer, Donen arrived in Hollywood alongside his friend and collaborator Gene Kelly with whom he would co-direct On The Town (1949) and Singin’ In The Rain (1953). His other credits included Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), Funny Face (1957), Charade (1963) and Two For The Road (1967).
