A Welsh actor best known for his roles in soap operas, Stan Stennett played Norman Crabtree on Coronation Street (1976) and the recurring role of mechanic Sid Hooper on Crossroads (1982-1987). His television career began in the 1960s compering The Black and White Minstrel Show, and in 1979 he was made an MBE for his theatre and charity work.
