The son of an expatriate actor who worked with Cecil Hepworth, Sheffield found fame in his own right when cast opposite Johnny Weissmuller in Tarzan Finds A Son! (1939). He reprised that role in seven further films, before playing Bomba, the Jungle Boy (1949) in a dozen big screen adventures.
