A former gag writer for Bob Hope, Schwartz honed his craft on popular American television shows in the 1950s and 60s, such as My Favorite Martian (1963-64). But his biggest claim to fame was in creating and writing two enduringly popular sitcoms, Gilligan’s Island (1964-67) and The Brady Bunch (1969-74).
