Inventor of the Teleprompter
A head of research at 20th Century Fox television, Schlafly created the first mechanised autocue system, the TelePrompTer. This soon became standard across the industry, as did his model for pay-per-view on cable – and later satellite – television beginning with the epic fight in Manila between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.
