An American actor who found fame playing Detective Ron Harris on the NYPD sitcom Barney Miller (1975-1982), Glass later became most associated with his role as Shepherd Book on the cult sci-fi series Firefly (2002-2003) and its big-screen spin-off, Serenity (2005). His other notable credits included The New Odd Couple (1982-1983) and Lakeview Terrace (2008).
