An American producer who turned around the fortunes of Paramount Pictures in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Evans oversaw films including Rosemary’s Baby (1968), Love Story (1970) and The Godfather (1972) as the studio’s Head of Production. He received an Oscar nomination for producing Chinatown (1974) and other notable credits included Marathon Man (1976) and Popeye (1980).
