A South African broadcaster known for his deep and distinctive voice, Kyle began his career presenting educational programmes such as Looking and Seeing (1957). He joined Yorkshire Television in 1968 and became the region’s best-known voice as an announcer and narrator of shows such as How We Used to Live (1968-1992).
