A New York born filmmaker who cut his teeth on episodic television, Post directed on series such as Rawhide (1959-64), later reuniting with one of its stars Clint Eastwood on the features Hang ‘Em High (1968) and Magnum Force (1973). Other films include Beneath The Planet of the Apes (1970).
