A versatile American stage, film and television actress, Bergen’s career began aged 14 as a singer before making her film debut in 1949. After signing with Paramount she starred in a trio of movies opposite Dean Martin including That’s My Boy (1951) and went on to star in Cape Fear (1962) and later Cry-Baby (1990).
