A British director who worked primarily on the stage, Wood regularly collaborated with playwright Tom Stoppard and directed Harold Pinter’s first major play. For the screen he directed a number of filmed plays including the Emmy-nominated Hamlet (1970), as well as the feature In Search of Gregory (1969).
