A British actor best known for his role as Chewbacca across five films in the Star Wars saga (1977-2015), Mayhew played Han Solo’s Wookie consigliere from Star Wars (1977) through to The Force Awakens (2015). His 7ft 3in frame and dedication to his physical performance made him ideally suited to playing the gentle giant.
