An American actor who became a counterculture icon during the 1960s in The Wild Angels (1966), The Trip (1967) and most famously Easy Rider (1969), Fonda also co-wrote the latter for which he received an Oscar nomination. His later credits included The Hired Hand (1971), Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974) and an Oscar-nominated performance in Ulee’s Gold (1997).
