An Irish actor whose career began predominantly in television, O’Connell starred in the likes of Fraud Squad (1969-1970) and The Brothers (1973-1976). He was also a stalwart of the stage, and on the big screen he notably starred in The Ragman’s Daughter (1972) and The Shooting Party (1985).
