One of the great actors of his generation, O’Toole received a BAFTA for his iconic performance in David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia (1962), and received three further nominations over the next 40 years for Becket (1964), The Last Emperor (1987) and Venus (2006). He notably also starred in The Lion in Winter (1968) and Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969).
