An acclaimed stage actor, Neville appeared in occasional films after his debut in Oscar Wilde (1960). He was Sherlock Holmes in A Study In Terror (1965), took the title role in The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) and starred in the series and big screen version of The X-Files (1998).
